Edmonton, AB

The Alberta Health Services hangar at the Edmonton International Airport is the primary hub for the majority of all AHS medevac flights. CanWest Air uses this hangar for our primary medevac fleet heavy maintenance program, customer maintenance, and specialized modification work.
Edmonton is the home base for CanWest Air’s B350, which is customized for medevac specialty roles including NICU and PICU missions, bariatric transfers, and ECMO.
The Edmonton base also frequently accommodates our C208B Grand Caravans for a variety of charter flight operations

Operating from a custom built new hangar in 2018, CanWest's Medicine Hat base is home to one King Air B250GT dedicated to medevac services.

Operating from the Million Air hangar at the Calgary International Airport, CanWest Air has a single King Air B250CGT based here. This King Air is equipped with a Cargo Door and specialty equipment to better handle NICU and PICU missions as well as some bariatric transfers.

This was CanWest Air’s original base, located on the shore of the Lesser Slave Lake. Today it serves as a busy medevac base with its King Air B250GT and a seasonal charter base with Cessna 206’s.
Our Slave Lake base also offers full FBO services, with both Jet and AvGas available. Please contact us in advance for details on special handling needs

Located alongside the mighty Peace River, the Fort Vermilion base is home to the majority of CanWest's chartered flights. This base fleet consist of one King Air B250GT, two Cessna 208B Grand Caravans and as many as 6 Cessna 206’s depending on the seasonal needs. Our Fort Vermilion base has regular cargo and freight operations, passenger charters, and offers medevac services both for remote communities in the area and under contract to AHS.
CanWest built a new hangar facility in 2018, and renovated the smaller original facility to better accommodate the fleet.
High Level, AB

High Level is home to a maintenance sub-base for our Cessna Fleet. Charter flights with the Cessna 206 and 208 fleet are frequent from this location, which is also home base for one medevac King Air 250.
Grande Prairie, AB

The Grande Prairie base is a major hub for AHS Air Ambulance transfers, maiking this base one of CanWest's busier facilities. There is currently one King Air B250GT permanently based at this location
